Our entire office exclusively works with children, adolescent, parenting & Family concerns. We have Registered Play Therapists, play therapy rooms, sand tray therapy, and tons more. Plus our offices are themed and designed with kids in mind to help ease the fears of starting therapy.

Director/Therapist
Leslie Lloyd
MA, LPC, LCPC-S, LPCC, LMHC, RPT
Leslie is the founder and director of YMHS. She graduated from Columbia College with her Bachelors in Psychology and then from MidAmerica Nazarene University with her Masters in Clinical Counseling with a double emphasis in Marriage, Couple, Family & Child and Adolescent Counseling. She also holds her Registered Play Therapy certification. She is also licensed in 5 states (Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, California, and Washington).

Leslie focuses on early childhood therapy, but also has a soft spot for teens and early adulthood clients. She also loves to train newly licensed or soon to be licensed therapists.

Leslie shares this with you "I take pride in knowing that what I know can help my clients. I have a very laid back approach and will meet you where you are emotionally. I will not talk over your head. I go only as fast as you are comfortable with and do not try to rush you.

In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my 2 cats, binge watching TV series, playing video games, attending my grown children's activities and hobbies, and drive around in my Jeep."

PLPC Therapist
Abby Seitz
MA, PLPC
Abby Seitz has been with YMHS since her practicum experience with Avila University. Abby is currently a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). She graduated from Avila University with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and a concentration in children and adolescents.
She works with children, adolescents, and their families on a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and life changes. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Client-Centered Play Therapy.
Abby shares this with you "starting therapy can be intimidating and scary, but I create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space for all clients. I am here to support and guide you on your journey but believe you are the expert of your own life. I hope to help my clients become the best versions of themselves and to process thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be hindering this. I hope to talk with you soon!"

PLPC Therapist
Britt Lewis
MA, PLPC
Brittany (Britt) Lewis has been with YMHS since her internship experience with Avila University She graduated from Avila University with her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2022. She enjoys working with various populations but loves working with kids and teens and helping them decrease anxiety, build healthy coping skills, communication skills, and self-confidence.
Britt shares this with you "as a former dancer and cheerleader, I understands the struggles athletes go through during their seasons, so working with student athletes is also a passion of mine."
When she is not counseling, she is spending time with her husband and two dogs. She also loves playing video games and writing short stories in her free time.

PLPC Therapist
Nicole Purcell
MA, PLPC
Nicole Purcell has been with YMHS since her internship experience at Missouri State University. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with Bachelors degree in Psychology. While attending Ole Miss, she played on the volleyball team for 4 years. After graduation, she attended Missouri State University to complete her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
While completing her masters program, she was the graduate assistant for the Missouri State Volleyball team for two years where she was able to explore the coaching side of athletics while also adapting and emphasizing mental health among their student athletes. After graduation, she moved back home to Kansas City to be closer to her family and start her counseling journey!
Nicole shares this with you, "In my free time you can find me coaching club volleyball, spending time with family and friends, going on outdoor adventures, and of course, watching the Chiefs!
I specialize in sports therapy and confidence building, anxiety, depression, trauma, play therapy, and family/relationship related issues for adolescents and adults who are seeking individual or family counseling. I hope to help you with anything you may need to ensure a safe, healthy, and happy life style!"

Masters Level Student Intern
Anna McElheny
Anna is currently obtaining her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in child and adolescence, at Avila University. She has been trained in TF-CBT and utilizes a variety of techniques. Before pursuing her MA, she received her BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute where she was trained as a children's book illustrator. Upon obtaining her master's, she plans to work as a child and adolescent therapist and begin writing and illustrating therapeutic children's books professionally.
Anna enjoys working with many populations, but helping children and teens is where her passion’s at!
Anna shares this with you "I aim to develop a genuine connection with you and provide a warm and comfortable environment, where you can be your most authentic self. Based on individual needs and goals, we will work together to understand and equip you with the skills and techniques that will be most valuable and healing for you!
My hobbies include camping, spending time with my family, playing with my dogs, creating art and design in almost any form (including UX design), listening to music, watching classic cartoons and films, playing video games, gardening, and watching WWE!"

Office Administrator
Kate Lear
Kate is our Office Administrator and is married and the proud mommy of a 5 month old baby boy who on occasion loves to visit the office.
She has years of experience in Customer Relations and has a bubbly upbeat personality. She does not know a stranger. She will make you feel right at home.
She handles our new patient set ups, 1st level billing, client questions, and so much more. She will even take time to sit down with you and your kiddo in the lobby and create crafts as they wait for a sibling to finish their session.
